Access. Please call 888-275-3683. Dovetail makes every effort to protect the privacy of our clients and our communication. The internet is not a secure or confidential environment, so we do not use instant messaging or e-mail with clients who call for counseling. State and Federal law protect the privacy of people who access counseling services. Please do not use e-mail to request or schedule services. Click here for more about our commitment to client access. |

Dovetail's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) helps employees and family members living in their homes. These services are available to you if your employer offers Dovetail EAP as a benefit. The assistance you receive may include help identifying and understanding the problems you are experiencing, an honest discussion of our recommendations and your options, short term counseling when indicated by the EAP, and case management. If the EAP is not the best way to meet your needs, your counselor will help you identify other available resources following your first or second counseling session. Dovetail EAP does not provide services reimbursed by insurance, evaluations or reports for insurance companies, legally mandated services, or reports and evaluations used in court. |
 |
Cost. Services provided by the EAP are free to you: they have been paid for by your employer. If you accept a referral for other services, you will be required to pay for them either through your insurance or out of pocket. If you receive a referral, your counselor will work with you to find available services covered by insurance and that best meet your ability to pay. Dovetail EAP is not an insurance company and does not reimburse clients for any services. |
Appointments. Counseling is by appointment only. The EAP counselor will hold your appointment for 15 minutes: your appointment may be rescheduled if you are more than 15 minutes late. Please call 888-275-3683 as soon as possible if you are unable to make your appointment, if you are running late, or have questions about times or office locations. If you arrive early, please do not disturb the counselor: wait for them to meet you at the time of your appointment. We will close your case if you fail to show up for two consecutive appointments. Confidentiality. The EAP will keep all identifying information about your participation confidential in accordance with the law as indicated in our Notice of Privacy Practices. Please select the link on the left to view our Privacy Practices. Information may be shared if you provide written permission on a Consent For Release of Information. Your parents/guardians may be provided information if you are under age 18. Your employer may receive information if you are being evaluated because you are subject to US Department Of Transportation regulations. If you have been referred for work performance problems or fitness for duty, you will be asked to provide Consent For Release of Information for the EAP to report to your employer your attendance and cooperation. EAP attendance during work hours may be reported. Click here for more about our commitment to the security of your information. |
Regular Office Hours
You may call any time: our toll free number is staffed 24 hours a day. The quickest way to access services is by calling during regular office hours:
6:30 AM - 3:30 PM Pacific Time
7:30 AM - 4:30 PM Mountain Time
8:30 AM - 5:30 PM Central Time
9:30 AM - 6:30 PM Eastern Time
If you call after office hours, our on-call counselor will return your call at your request. To protect confidentiality, we will not leave messages on voicemail that reveal EAP participation without your permission.
|
|
If you have a privacy manager service, this will prevent our counselors from returning you call, so please make sure you provide a number where we can reach you that is not blocked by this service. If you use Caller ID, please be aware that Dovetail has counselors in over 30 states and many counselors provide services in, and make calls from, more than one office. Returning a call using a telephone number saved in Caller ID may result in delays in service. We want your access to services to be simple and immediate, so please call 888-275-3683 unless specifically instructed by your counselor. |

We firmly believe in the value and effectiveness of human contact in providing our services. Web sites and email are useful ways to exchange general information, but Dovetail does not provide "telephone counseling" or "telephone assessments" because we believe that makes about as much sense as phoning in a physical examination to your physician. Some things people need to do in person. Click here for more about Internet EAP services. |
