SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT
EAP COUNSELING IS SCHEDULED BY PHONE
Please call toll free 888-275-3683 or 888-ASK-DOVE.
Your call is confidential and may take as little as two or three minutes if you call during our central office business hours listed below. Your counselor will then be assigned and asked to return your call within one business day to schedule your first appointment.
You may call any time 24 hours a day and ask for the counselor on call to return your call. Please leave a number where you will be available that is not blocked by a Privacy Manager service. Because your call is confidential, we cannot leave a message with a family member or explain to someone else why we are calling if you do not answer yourself.
The EAP is available to employees and family members in the home. Adults must call and request counseling for themselves. Minors under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian with the right to consent to treatment call and attend the first appointment.

If for any reason you have not spoken with your counselor by the end of the following business day, please call Dovetail during business hours. We are happy to assist you in scheduling your appointment.
QUICKEST ACCESS IS DURING CENTRAL OFFICE HOURS
Calls to Dovetail are always handled by a human being, not a machine, and a counselor is always on call 24 hours a day to return your call.
Our regular office hours on weekdays are:
6:30 AM - 3:30 PM Pacific

7:30 AM - 4:30 PM Mountain
Time
8:30 AM - 5:30 PM Central
Time
9:30 AM - 6:30 PM Eastern
Time
If our central office will be closed for a holiday on any day this month, that information will be found by clicking here. Please understand that our counselors celebrate holidays, too, so scheduling around holidays may occasionally require waiting for a first appointment.
FLEXIBILITY WILL REDUCE YOUR WAIT FOR A FIRST APPOINTMENT
If you are having an emergency and need to be seen immediately, please call 911 or go to an emergency room. We do not guarantee appointments will be available on the same day you call.
If your need is urgent, please say so in your initial call. We will attempt, whenever possible, to have your counselor call you on the same day to schedule your first appointment within just a few days. We want people to be seen soon whenever possible, so please understand that the more flexible you are about office location and times, the sooner you will be seen.
OFFICES LOCATIONS
Your counselor will typically have an office within a 30 minute drive of either an employee's place of work or home. We offer both whenever possible, but some locations have no local counselors that meet Dovetail's standards for licensure and experience. Just like seeing a good doctor, seeing a good counselor may sometimes require a longer drive.
HOW TO HANDLE LAST MINUTE CANCELLATIONS
Flat tires, bad weather, illness, or an unusual last minute surprise may prevent you or your counselor from being on time. Your counselor will call you as soon as they are able if they cannot make your appointment. If for any reason your counselor is not present in the office at your appointment time, please call 888-275-3683 toll free on any phone in the US. Please call if you will be more than 15 minutes late for any appointment. Your counselor may not be available to see you and may need to reschedule. If it's after business hours when you call, please ask for the counselor on call to be paged.
HOW WE HANDLE NO SHOWS
Good counselors are a valuable resource and often have waiting lists of people who want to get in. Unless you are unable to call in, your missed appointment will be labeled a no show if you miss an appointment without calling. If this happens twice, we will close your case.
